How Zone Progression Works

To advance from one zone to the next, you must complete the main quest in your current zone. There is no level gate beyond completing the zone's boss or questline. The steep drop-off in unlock percentages (from 43.1% for Zone 1 to just 9.8% for Zone 2) shows that most players get stuck between zones, emphasizing the importance of multiplier stacking before attempting the next zone.

Zone Details

Zone 1 — Rosso

Zone 1 is the starting zone and is named "Rosso" per community documentation (source_012). It has been unlocked by 288,206 players (43.1% of all players), making it the most accessed zone. The Zone 1 unlock is essentially the first major progression milestone after starting the game.

Zone 2

Zone 2 introduces the Dual Sword mechanic, which provides a 2x weapon damage multiplier. Only 9.8% of players (99,118) have unlocked Zone 2, showing a significant difficulty cliff from Zone 1. The internal name for Zone 2 is not confirmed by official sources.

Zone 3

Zone 3 is where the Trial system becomes central to progression. 4.9% of players (58,231) have reached Zone 3. Completing Trials here yields world-specific shards for Crafted Fighters.

Zones 4-6

Zones 4 through 6 show a more gradual decline in unlock rates (3.2%, 2.8%, 2.4% respectively). These are mid-to-late game zones requiring strong Awakening stacks, high-rarity Haki, and Accessories from boss drops. Zone names are not confirmed by official sources.

Zone 7 (Update 1 Addition)

Zone 7 was added April 25, 2026 as part of Update 1. It has already been unlocked by 12,639 players (2.6% win rate). This suggests the difficulty curve from Zone 6 to Zone 7 is not dramatically steeper than previous zones.

Zone 8 (Update 1 Addition, Just Released)

Zone 8 was added April 27, 2026. As of the data fetch, zero players had unlocked it. This is the newest content in World Fighters at time of publishing. Zone 8 represents the current endgame progression ceiling.

Darkness Rises context: The story narrative "Darkness Rises" runs through all zones. Completing each zone advances the main storyline, which provides the game's narrative framing for why zones exist and escalate in difficulty.
